Description

BPC-157 10mg

Gastric Pentadecapeptide · Angiogenesis · Tendon and Ligament · Research Only

What is it and how does it work?

BPC-157 (Body Protection Compound 157) is a synthetic pentadecapeptide derived from a protective sequence of human gastric juice. Preclinical literature describes multiple documented pathways of action in animal models: upregulation of VEGFR2 with an angiogenic effect, activation of the Akt-eNOS and Src-Caveolin-1-eNOS cascades on vasomotor tone, and an increase in growth hormone receptor in tendon fibroblasts with in vitro tenocyte proliferation (Hsieh et al., Sci Rep 2020 PMC7555539; Chang et al., J Appl Physiol 2011).

Extensive preclinical evidence (Sikiric et al., University of Zagreb, since the 90s) in mouse and rat models: Achilles tendon healing, collateral ligament, gastric mucosa, intestinal anastomosis, and ulcerative colitis (PL-14736, Pliva Phase II trials). A systematic review from 2025 (Vasireddi et al., Am J Sports Med 2025 PMID 40756949) of 36 studies documents reduction in pro-inflammatory cytokines and modulation of tissue repair pathways in experimental models. No human use approved by FDA — research material only.

Documented evidence in research literature

Preclinical Evidence · Tendon and Ligament Healing
  • Staresinic et al., J Orthop Res 2003 — rat Achilles tendon transected, 10 mcg/kg IP/PO → accelerated healing
  • Krivic et al., J Orthop Res 2006 (PMID 16583442) — Tendon-bone detachment model, BPC-157 rescues healing and counteracts deleterious effect of corticosteroids
  • Cerovecki et al., J Orthop Res 2010 — medial collateral ligament tear in rats; BPC-157 improves ligament healing
  • Vasireddi et al., Am J Sports Med 2025 (PMID 40756949) — systematic review of 36 preclinical studies confirms modulation of pro-inflammatory cytokines
Preclinical evidence · gastric and GI mucosa
  • Sikiric et al., Inflammopharmacology 2006 — PL-14736 (BPC-157) in early phase II trials for ulcerative colitis (Pliva, Croatia) in animal and exploratory human models
  • Multiple models of gastritis, esophagitis, and intestinal mucosal damage documented protection and repair in rodents
  • Typical preclinical ranges: 10 mcg/kg–10 µg/kg intraperitoneal or subcutaneous administration
Documented molecular mechanism
  • Hsieh et al., Sci Rep 2020 PMC7555539 — Src-Caveolin-1-eNOS activation in vitro
  • Sikiric et al., Curr Pharm Des 2018 (PMID 29737246) — bidirectional modulation of the NO/L-arginine system
  • Chang et al., J Appl Physiol 2011 — upregulation of GH receptor in tendon fibroblasts
  • Structural stability reported under gastric conditions—property used as justification for oral exploration in preclinical studies

Combinations reported in literature

  • BPC-157 + TB-500 (preclinical literature ‘Wolverine’ stack): independent pathways — BPC-157 via VEGFR2/eNOS contributes to angiogenesis; TB-500 (Ac-SDKP sequence) contributes to cell migration. No reported mechanistic redundancy.
  • BPC-157 + Tesamorelin/CJC-Ipa in regeneration studies: endogenous GH amplifies GH receptor upregulation that BPC-157 produces in tendon fibroblasts in experimental models.
  • BPC-157 + GHK-Cu: act on different compartments according to the literature—BPC-157 in deep tissue (tendons, ligaments, mucosa); GHK-Cu in skin, fascia, and the extracellular matrix.
  • BPC-157 + KPV: Both modulate anti-inflammatory pathways via distinct mechanisms in preclinical models—KPV via melanocortin MC1R; BPC-157 via NO/cytokines.

Practical notes

  • Presentation 10mg allows for extended research without frequent vial replacement. Vial yield: 200 units total U-100.
  • Documented via primary preclinical literature: SC and IP in rodents. Reported gastric stability also allows for oral exploration in preclinical studies.

Contraindications and precautions
